28 Weeks!

Today we have reached our first big goal and are now 28 weeks with the triplets! Tim and I clearly remember the terrifying statement made by our Dr. the night before I underwent cerclage surgery, "You are at 21 weeks and NEED to get to 28 weeks. The time between now and then will feel like eternity, but it is crucial that you make it to 28 weeks." Our next big goal is 30 weeks, so we pray that the next couple of weeks will be uneventful and the babies will continue to thrive and grow!
Grandma Sheila is again flying in from Arizona today to help us get through the next couple of critical weeks with as little stress as possible - and we cannot wait to see her!
Our next Dr. visit is this Tuesday! Thanks again for all of your prayers!

26 1/2 Weeks!

Well, I am thrilled to report that I am back HOME again!!! We had a very long Dr. appointment today that revealed nothing but wonderful news! My cervix is stable and the cerclage is doing it's job-thank goodness. The babies all look perfect and are measuring at least 6 days ahead of schedule! The growth scan ultrasound predicted all three babies to be over 2 pounds- Baby A is 2.2 pounds, Baby B is 2.3 pounds, and Baby C is 2.6 pounds! It is truly a blessing to once again arrive home to the greetings of BIG hugs, lots of kisses and the cheerful giggles from my boys! Life is good :)

26 Weeks!

Hello! We are all doing well and I am still at home! Each day is a blessing :) I go in tomorrow for a long Dr. appointment (they blocked four hours for the ultrasound, glucose tolerance test, change of care visit and cervix check). I am really looking forward to the ultrasound to measure the babies and see how much they now weigh! They are so active and I can really tell they have grown. It is fun watching the party going on in my belly with limbs poking here and there and tons of baby movement!
The nurse visit went well this week and all babies look great and are now practicing their breathing! Again, the nurse commented on how much bigger they look on ultrasound and how active the babies are(way to go boys)!!
Tim is back hard at work and the boys are enjoying the temporary nanny that will be with us through January. We did hire a full-time nanny that we all adore and she will start February 1st! Thank you for your continued prayers and support!

25 Weeks!

I am now 25 weeks with the babies and all is well. The nurse visited today and all three babies look fabulous! Baby C was already practicing breathing motions- which is advanced for this gestation!
I made my way to the main floor couch yesterday to spend the day with my family and my mom. It was such a sweet surprise to walk down the stairs to see birthday balloons, gifts and a birthday sign that decorated the room! Tim has done a wonderful job keeping the house in order and looking great - and thanks to my mom, the Christmas tree is down and all of the decorations are back in storage :)
The boys have enjoyed Grandma's visit and have played hard at home and at open gym :) Each boy had a special outing with Daddy this weekend. Tim and Charlie enjoyed a Gopher basketball game on Saturday! Charlie's favorite part was staying after the game and mock-shooting on the court. He was dressed in his Gopher attire and had an extra bounce in his step as he walked out the door!
Tommy and Daddy took a field trip on Sunday. Since Tommy's favorite jingle to sing is the Menard's song, "Save big money at Menard's," it was time to finally introduce the boy to Menard's! Tim and Tommy took a little trip to McDonald's and Menard's for their special outing!
I feel so blessed to be home and love every minute I get to spend with my family!

Home Sweet Home!

We had a great 24 week appointment this morning and I am HOME! We are all looking forward to Grandma Sheila's arrival tomorrow and pray for a wonderful and uneventful week :)

Happy New Year!

I don't think I have ever been so excited to flip the calendar to a new month-better yet, a new year! So far, we have had a great 2010! I am still at home with my family and am now 24 weeks with the triplets!
Nurses visit our home twice a week to monitor the babies and check heartbeats via ultrasound (always fun to see!). The babies are all looking great, have strong heartbeats and plenty of fluid. The nurses are always amazed at how active the babies are! I also monitor contractions via a home monitoring device 2-3 times a day and continue getting my contraction meds via a terbutaline pump. The beauty of technology that allows me to be home!
Tim returned to work today after a long break in December and the boys had a blast with the babysitter (thanks for the recommendation, Rachel)! Although I missed my bedroom buddies, it is always a good sign when I hear constant giggles downstairs and they are so busy playing that they forget I am home :) Since my horizontal position has been constant for 5 weeks now, Tommy is always amazed and excited when I rise to use the restroom and screams, "Mommy, YOU CAN WALK NOW!!!!!!"
We have another appointment tommorow and are praying I will be returning home :) Thanks again for all of your prayers and support!
